Hello you,
I’m popping into your inbox with a quick heads up that I’ll be holding Breathwork for Belonging tonight. Want to come?
There are more details below but on a personal note I wanted to tell you a little story about my own breathwork practice today:
I’ve been feeling disconnected. My mind floating outside of my body. Maybe it’s because I’m in the first couple of days of my cycle, maybe it’s too much social media over the last couple of weeks, maybe it’s the longer burn of moving cities a couple of months ago and not having very deep roots here yet. Whatever it is, I’ve been outside of myself. Lost in the tumbling thoughts of my mind, like a feather in a whirlwind.
This isn’t an unfamiliar place. I spent vast swathes of my 20’s and early 30’s in this disconnected state. It was a strange escapist comfort then, but it just feels icky to me now. I know that I’m more grounded, more joyful, more creative, more alive when I’m connected to my body.
So this morning I practiced. Not to fix anything or come out the other end all shiny and wiped clean, but because I missed myself. I know the feeling of belonging to myself now and that’s more tempting that the numb of disconnection.
And as I lay there, breathing, a little crack in the shell appeared. A little door opened to let me back in. And the incremental feeling of inhabiting my body once again, rather than my mind is floating high above like a balloon. Welcoming myself back tenderly. Here we are again. Here we are in all our messy humanity. You belong here. It’s okay that you wandered, you can always come back in.
That’s what I’m offering you with Breathwork for Belonging. The simple invitation to come back to yourself. No matter how long you’ve been away, there’s always the chance to reconnect.
I’ll see you there xx
Breathwork for Belonging
A breathwork and journaling workshop for reconnection
It's been a minute since I offered a group breathwork session and I'm so excited to return with Breathwork for Belonging. Belonging is, of course, a deep human need. We long to feel like we have a place where we're seen and welcomed exactly as we are.
Unfortunately we're living in deeply disconnected times. Belonging can feel thin on the ground and conditional. We're taught that we have to abandon parts of ourselves to fit in, that it's every person for themselves, and that we, as humans, are separate from the natural world.
This will be a practice that counters that story on an embodied level.
Using the simple power of breath and writing you'll reconnect - to yourself, to others, and to the more-than-human world - so that a sense of belonging can take root and expand.
Pricing is sliding scale - anywhere between £10-40 - and there will be a recording sent out the following day, if you’re not able to make it live.
