Hello you,
Happy new moon, my dear! Let’s talk about The Lovers, hmm?
A little word before we get into the love-fest - I have space for two babes to join me for my 6-month programme this summer.
I work with a lot of queer babes, femmes, and neurodivergent folks, and honestly nothing makes me happier than making space for us weirdos to shine bright and shamelessly claim our power. Some of the things I love to work with folks around:
✨ Being able to stay centred and trust that you can hold yourself, even in the middle of big changes and big feelings
✨ Unlearning urgency, slowing the fuck down, and shifting out of deeply entrenched patterns of internalised patriarchy and capitalism
✨ Trusting yourself, owning yourself, and feeling at home in your body
✨ Becoming more powerful and confident in your creative output and self-expression
✨ Exploring your gender expression, queerness, and how to brazenly become yourself
✨ Developing a deeper connection to your intuition, your magic, and your divinity
If that sounds like something you’re direly needing right now, the first step is booking in a chat. No hard sales tactics, just discussing what you need and making sure we’re a good fit. I’d love to speak with you!
Okay! Let’s get going. The Lovers wants to tell you all about connection and making choices…
6.
The Lovers
You’re standing in a garden. The grass is verdant and soft beneath your feet, the sky glows radiant above. You stand in front of your love, both of you turned towards one another naked and unashamed.
You can feel the space between you. It’s thrumming, vibrant and electric. If you squinted you might glimpse the invisible threads binding you together. You might see the way that they weave between you, and how you and your love are inextricably linked. And more than that. There’s something new born of this interconnection. Something new created in the space between.
You’re softened and open, giving and receiving at once as energy moves between you. This is a dance of relationship. This is a dance of unconditional love. This is a dance of becoming more than the sum of your parts.
Who are The Lovers?
Perhaps unsurprisingly, The Lovers wants you to choose love.
And I don’t mean Disney storybook love that ends as the romantic couple kisses and the music swells. No, The Lovers is more interested in what happens the day after happily ever after. They have their hands dirty with the work of real world love.
The Lovers card isn’t solely concerned with romantic love either. This is a card of relationship. Full stop. Ruled by the twins of Gemini, this card is curious about the continual interplay of self and other. What is mine, what is yours, what is ours?
The Lovers asks you to pay attention to how you’re showing up in all your relationships.
Those with other people, yes, but also your relationship to your passions, your work, your creativity, the land you live with. And perhaps most importantly, how are you showing up in your relationship to yourself?
All of us have parts that feel ‘other’. The Lovers comes to remind us that we can meet those parts with love. They don’t have to be shunned or tidied away for us to be loveable. This card invites us to practice turning towards our sticky, shadowy, shamed parts with wide open arms.
Exhortations of self love have become little more than a cheesy Instagram aphorism at this point, I know. And I know that that brand of self love can often feel deeply conditional. “Love yourself! Oh, but only if your self love looks like holidays in the Caribbean and cute bikinis”.
But nonetheless, The Lovers and I wonder what would happen if you loved all of you. Not just the bits that you think make you loveable. All the parts.
The ones that need things you wish they didn’t need. The bits that are wounded and tender. Even the parts that make you cringe. Maybe there would be some healing in that. Some long held internal divide could finally be reunited.
