Hello you,
Our community breathwork practice is this Sunday
I’ve been spending a lot of time this month really feeling into what support I need for the long term. What do I need to sustainably thrive? What is needed to exhume the habitual urgency, self denial, numbing, and anxiety that I was conditioned into by late stage colonial capitalism so I have the capacity to build something better?
I’ve been really good at the bandaid kind of support in the past. Good at doing the things that patch me up just enough to carry on. But now I want to weave support so thoroughly into my fabric that it’s as natural as breathing.
So far that means practicing listening to my needs and desires, getting better at holding sensations of discomfort, and going so much slower than my Aries Rising self is accustomed to.
It’s looked like naps, morning pages, asking for what I need, joining a year-long mentorship program, making space to feel my damn feelings, slow barefoot wiggles that bring me into my body, and evenings snuggled under the weighted blanket with my love.
I'm also supporting my body and nervous system by doing breathwork.
Our breath is a free and accessible healing tool. And working intentionally with your breath creates space to get present with yourself and feel, to know your edges and (slowly, over time) expand your nervous system’s capacity. Your breath can help you shift your energy and get unstuck.
And while I love my solo breathwork practice, there’s something particularly powerful that happens when I practice with others. The support and accountability of a facilitator stops me getting stuck in the same old loops, and keeps me moving through the resistance, emotions, and physicality that breathwork can bring up.
Maybe you need some breathwork and space holding too?
If so, I'm hosting my monthly community breathwork group over Zoom this SUNDAY at 7pm, UK time.
These groups are an accessible opportunity to connect with your breath, body, and come home to yourself in a community of other folks doing the same.
During our time together we'll do some grounding and centring to land in the practice, writing to bring things up to the surface that need to be worked through, breathing and feeling to move it all through, and connecting to close our practice together.
Sessions are recorded, but all the conversations, questions and experiences shared by the group are edited out to encourage confidentiality and intimacy. Which is to say, the recordings are juicy but being there live is even juicier.
Maybe you’re a seasoned breathwork practitioner, maybe it’s your very first time exploring the realms of healing and self awareness that breathwork can take you to. Everyone is welcome.
To join us, all you have to do is be a paid Substack subscriber.
Substack subscription is £7/month or £70/year. But until the end of January I’m offering 20% of yearly subscriptions, which makes it £56 for a whole year of breathwork. (My one-to-one breathwork usually costs £70+ so this is a preeetty sweet deal)
I offer these Substack sales twice yearly and the next one won’t come around until August. So now’s a good time to pay it forward to future you, and build a practice that help you sustainably thrive.
I hope to see you there!
