Hello you,
I’m coming in hot with a gift for you today; imagine it wrapped with care and topped with a big golden bow. I hope you like it.
The tl;dr version is that I made you a care package of rest practices so you can find a way to be less damn exhausted all the time. It’s called the Radical Rest Studio. It’s a Notion dashboard with:
100 Ways to Rest
Yoga Nidra inspired by the Queen of Pentacles (or the elements of earth and water for my non-tarot babes)
Breathwork to Slow the Fuck Down
…and a bunch of other restorative magic
The slightly longer version is that this is about rest, with a side of rebellion.
Rest is anything that connects mind and body. Rest is anything that restores you, that remembers you back to your wholeness and into connection. Rest is a reclamation of softness, slowness, and femme energy. And, in a world of exhaustion, burnout, and disconnection, rest is a radical act.
I don’t use the word radical lightly. Not radical in the way Avril Lavigne is punk. When I say radical I really do mean that learning to rest is one of the fundamental skills we need to reimagine the world. It’s how we plant the seed of a more generative, just, expansive way of being, beginning with our own bodies and lives.
Resting is more than cushions and naps. Learning to rest is a disruption of the systems of capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy. It gives you the capacity to break free from the cultural addiction to busy and urgent, and imagine something better. More human.
It’s about restoring yourself to wholeness so that you can stop perpetuating the same patterns that exhausted you in the first place. A rested you stops surviving and can thrive.
So I gathered together all the things I know about resting. All the practices and rituals that I’ve used, all the things my clients have found supportive over the years, and I offer them to you here in the Radical Rest Studio.
And if you want more personalised support in navigating out of exhaustion and into a more connected, restful way of being, you can always work with me one-to-one.
I’m currently taking applications for my 6-month program, Wayfinder, or you can book a stand-alone Touchstone session, if a la carte is more your style.
Wayward Bodies is back!
After an elongated hiatus (more on that in a sec), I'm back with a new episode of Wayward Bodies. It will be up in all the good podcast places this Wednesday, June 15th.
In this first episode of Season Two, I go into why it’s been such a long break between episodes! I chat about burnout, and emerging back afterwards. We’ll go into the importance of completing the stress cycle, how to interrogate and unlearn urgency, and trust as an alternative to control freak tendencies.
I’m so excited to be back in your ears! There are some brilliant conversations coming up this season, and lots of juicy discussion of embodiment and magic.
Subscribe where ever you like to get your podcasts, and I’ll pop up in your feed every other Wednesday:
